A family business with tradition
On June 9, 1933, Emanuel and Paula Knöpfle bought the Landgasthof Hirschen in Breitenfeld. Emanuel and Paula Knöpfle were innkeepers with heart and soul and so the country inn, which also had an agricultural area, became a popular destination for many local residents. In 1950 it was decided to make the first renovation. Parts of the economic building were converted into guest rooms and the first guest rooms were created. On January 1st, 1966, the farm and inn were handed over to son Lothar and daughter-in-law Cäcilia. In 1977 the country inn was extensively renovated and expanded. Additional guest rooms were also created.
After successful years in the service of hospitality, the decision was made in 1988 to build a guest house adjacent to the country inn in order to meet the increased demand for overnight accommodation from now on. With the elaborate redesign of the outer facade and the sanitary facilities in 1998, the Landgasthof Hirschen has a modern and contemporary appearance. The “Hirschen parking garage” built in 2000 offers hotel and restaurant guests additional comfort.

The expansion of the terrace in 2005 significantly increased the seating capacity in the outdoor area. On January 1st, 2006 Lothar and Cäcilia Knöpfle transferred the country inn to their daughter Andrea Knöpfle. With extensive construction measures, investments were made in 2012 in new and expanded social rooms for employees, new office space and a toilet suitable for the disabled. A lot has happened in over 80 years, but tradition and hospitality are, then as now, the basis of our work.
